Sickle cell anemia ( low red blood cells ) is an inherited disease This means it is passed on from your parents. It may have started in areas where there is malaria.
When someone with sickle cell anemia has decreased oxygen (not enough air) or fluid intake, the red blood cell can take on a sickle shape. This shape makes it easier for the cell to get stuck in small blood vessels. This can block circulation and some organs will get damaged because, they lose their blood supply. |
About Co- Author Rest In Peace
My daughter was born in Ft. Wayne Indiana. The doctors there didn't know anything about what was going on with my child. At the age of 3months old my daughter had a stroke. We had moved to Los Angeles Ca. This is where it all began. I woke up one morning and my baby continued to cry and not stop. Therefore, nothing was moving on her body so I knew in my mind something was really wrong. I brought her to Children's hospital, then I had discovered that she not only had a stroke but, the child had pneumonia. When I tell you this is where my journey began. I would read the Jabez prayer every night because, I knew deep down inside God YAHWEH would see me through any situation. Psalm 23 The lord is my Shepard I shall not want. As my baby started getting older, little did I know my journey was just beginning! One thing I knew was how to get on my knees and pray for strength. |
